Bulls Drop Men’s Swimming Decision at St. Bonaventure, 150-93

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s swimming and diving team dropped a 150-93 decision to Western New York rival St. Bonaventure Thursday evening at the Reilly Center Pool. With the loss, UB is now 3-3 overall while St. Bonaventure improves to 4-4.

UB took just three events as Kevin Gatley (Charlton, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), Jeff Hurst (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena) and Patrick Lee (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) were victorious for the Bulls.

Gatley scored a win in the 200 butterfly in 1:54.26, lowering his season-best by more than three seconds. Hurst took first place in the 200 backstroke in 1:58.11 with freshman teammate Luke Adams (Quinnesec, MI/Kingsford) placing second in 1:59.34. Lee won the three-meter diving competition with a total score of 286.80 points. Lee also finished second on the one-meter board with 252.15 points.

The Bulls get a nine-day breather before returning to the water. UB travels to Ypsilanti, MI to face defending Mid-American Conference champion Eastern Michigan on Saturday, January 31 at 1 pm.
