Termin Hits 100 Wins as Bulls Down Ball State and Bowling GreenBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo's men's swimming and diving team, 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference, dominated Alumni Natatorium this afternoon as they defeated MAC opponents Bowling Green, 172-67, and Ball State, 125-117. Buffalo winners included Dan Hickey (Brockport, NY) (200 free - 1:41.94, 100 free - 46.57), John Nilles (Staten Island, NY) (50 free - 21:18), Jason McLachlan (Arvada, CO) (400 IM - 4:07.07), Josh Pun (Edmonton, Alberta) (200 fly 1:54.85), Eric Stimson (North Tonawanda, NY) (200 back - 1:52.61), and Dave Sofer (Brooklyn, NY) (1-meter diving - 242.40 pts.). Buffalo swept the relay events including the 400 freestyle relay (Hickey, Pun, Dexter Tatum (Gainesville, GA), and Nilles - 3:08.32), the final event of the meet, to seal the close victory over Ball State. In the process of winning nine out of 13 events and sweeping the double dual meet, UB's head coach Budd Termin earned his 100th career victory. Additionally, Termin announced that Josh Pun had qualified for the Canadian Olympic trials for the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.07 in a meet on Friday. The qualifying time necessary is 57.19.
