UB's Hickey Gets MAC Honor

BUFFALO, NY- The University at Buffalo men's swimmer Dan Hickey (Brockport, NY/Brockport) was named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week today.

Hickey led the Bulls to a 157-74 win over cross-town rival Niagara last Thursday evening with four first place finishes. He posted two individual first-place finishes and was a member of two first-place relay teams.

Hickey won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:41.54, which is the second fastest time in the MAC this season. He also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:37.99, the third fastest time in the MAC this season.

He was a member of two first-place relay teams, taking top honors in the 400-medley relay (3:28.15) and the 400-free relay (3:05.53). Both of those times were the fourth fastest in the conference this year for those particular events.

The Bulls are 3-0 this year in dual meets but will take the holiday's off before resuming action on January 16.
