"Dan Gwyther will play a major role in the Bulls campaign in 2007. He is an excellent defensive player and will be used to organize the back. He has a clear tactical understanding of both offenses and defenses. He will have an immediate impact on the defensive schemes that the Bulls will utilize in 2007. As a defender, he cannot only solidify his own position but can also aid the young players around him. He will mark the opposition s best players and will provide the Bulls with vocal leadership in a flat back four scheme. " - John Astudillo

Sophomore (2006): Started and played in 18 matches as a sophomore...named the team's Most Improved Player &named to the All-MAC Second Team...scored a goal in the first match of the season against West Virginia (8/25)...awarded MVP Honors at the 2006 West Virginia Shootout (8/27)...his performance in the WVU Shootout also earned him MAC Player of the Week honors (8/29).

Freshman (2005): Emerged as a young leader in the backfield, appearing and starting in 18 games... honored by College Soccer News as one of the 26 freshman in Division-I soccer "making an impact"... scored his first career assist in UB's 3-0 shutout against Siena... was voted Top Newcomer by the coaching staff.

High School: Attended Woodcote High School, where he was team captain... also played for Watford F.C. and Barnet F.C. club teams... both teams won its respective English Championships... was a Surrey Cup winner, along with a U-18 National Schools winner.

Personal: Born March 29, 1986... parents are Graham and Sandra Gwyther... has a brother, Michael, and two sisters, Louise and Elise... favorite food is shepard’s pie... favorite magazine is FHM... Chose to attend UB because of the great people & great facilities... his greatest athletic influence is his dad... if he could be a cartoon character, he would be the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland... major is undecided... UB Scholar-Athlete (Spring 2006).
