BUFFALO, NY Freshman forward Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas 2004 All-New York Region Third Team, the NSCAA announced.

Catchpole helped the team to a 6-0-1 start, scoring three goals and adding two assists in the team's first 10 games before breaking his ankle in a 1-0 loss to Oneonta on Sept. 24. Remarkably, the speedy forward stayed in until the end of the game.

Even more remarkable, Catchpole reentered the lineup five weeks later just in time for the Mid-American Conference playoffs. He scored both goals in the Bulls' 2-1 upset win against Northern Illinois in the first round and also added the lone Bulls' goal in a 4-1 loss to Akron in the semifinals.

With his three goals and six points in his final two games, Catchpole took over the team lead in goals (six) and points (14), while playing in only 11 of the team's 19 games.

The Bulls, under 16th-year head coach John Astudillo, enjoyed a seven-win turnaround in 2004, finishing 8-8-3 this year after a 1-12-3 record in 2003.
