BUFFALO, NYDaniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) was named to the 2005 College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I University Division Men's Soccer First Team on Thursday. This is the second straight year that Bell, the team's starting goalkeeper, has been honored by CoSIDA, but this is the first-ever UB men's soccer player to be named to first-team All-District.

Having started 14 games last year with a 1.43 goals against average and four shutouts, Bell progressed brilliantly by starting in all 16 games for the Bulls. His seven shutouts and 0.78 goals against average are both third in the Mid-American Conference.

A political science major, Bell currently boasts a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and is involved in the Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society. With his 12 wins this season, Bell earned a place in UB history, moving up to second in wins in a season (12) and in a career (21). Other accolades include being named MAC Player of the Week and MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week during the week of Sept. 19.

Bell and the rest of the Bulls team begin their title run when they face off against IPFW in the opening round of the MAC playoffs at UB Stadium on Tuesday, Nov. 8 starting at 7 p.m.
