BUFFALO, NY – Seniors Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) and Kevin Balkanloo (Hudson, OH/Hudson) were both named to the 2006 College Sports Information Director’s of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I University Division Men’s Soccer Second Team on Thursday. The honor is the third straight for Bell, while it is the second for the senior defender, Balkanloo, his first while at UB.

Balkanloo is a Psychology major with a 3.96 GPA. After appearing in just eight contests as a junior, Balkanloo has appeared in 12 games this year, recording a goal and an assist. The goal came in UB's 4-0 victory over Canisius, while his assist came in Buffalo's MAC Quarterfinal game against IPFW.

Bell, who was named to the first team last year, is a Political Science major with a 3.65 GPA. The senior net minder has notched eight shutouts on the year, which is tied for second in the conference. His 62 saves on the season are a personal best and his 0.76 goals against average is good for fourth all-time in UB soccer history. Bell was recently named, MAC Scholar Athlete of The Week and earlier this season was named MAC Player of the Week.
