Two Bulls Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
Balkanloo is a Psychology major with a 3.96 GPA. After appearing in just eight contests as a junior, Balkanloo has appeared in 12 games this year, recording a goal and an assist. The goal came in UB's 4-0 victory over Canisius, while his assist came in Buffalo's MAC Quarterfinal game against IPFW. Bell, who was named to the first team last year, is a Political Science major with a 3.65 GPA. The senior net minder has notched eight shutouts on the year, which is tied for second in the conference. His 62 saves on the season are a personal best and his 0.76 goals against average is good for fourth all-time in UB soccer history. Bell was recently named, MAC Scholar Athlete of The Week and earlier this season was named MAC Player of the Week.
Balkanloo, Bell and the rest of the Bulls return to action tomorrow as they face host and top-seeded Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference Semifinals. That contest is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm ET. |
