Bulls End Regular Season With Tie

Buffalo and Western Michigan play to 1-1 tie

BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo men's soccer team finished the regular season with a 1-1 tie against MAC opponent Western Michigan. The Bulls got on the board early Friday night in front of a good crowd for senior day at RAC Field. It was the first time the Bulls have gained points at home since September 6 against nationally-ranked Binghamton.

The Bulls got a goal in the 17 minute of play off a direct kick from senior Mirnes Biscevic (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham). The Bulls would keep that lead until the 42nd minute when Western Michigan converted on a direct kick of their own.

The two teams played a tough and physical game with four yellow cards being issued as well as 44 combined fouls.

Buffalo received another solid outing from sophomore goalkeeper Dan Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) who had two saves on the night. Both teams had their chances to win the game, including two breakaways from sophomore Braden Byler(Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep).

The Bulls finish the regular season with a 7-7-2 record, including a 1-4-1 record in the MAC. With the tie Western Michigan improves to 8-6-3 and a 3-2-1 final record in the MAC.

The Bulls will now travel to Kalamazoo, MI for the 2004 MAC Tournament. The Bulls will be the sixth seed in the tournament and they will play Northern Illinois on Friday, November 5 at 9:00 AM.
