Bulls Fall To #16 Akron, 1-0BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's soccer team fell on Friday night at UB Stadium 1-0 to nationally-ranked Akron. Matt Tutich scored the game's only goal for the Zips in the 51st minute.
The Zips scored the only goal of the match 5:46 into the second half when a shot by Matt Tutich followed up an inital effort by Steve Zakuni and found the back of the net. Zakuni's shot was stopped by Buffalo goalkeeper Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame Secondary), but he was unable to corral the rebound in the wet conditions and Tutich pounced on the rebound and gave Akron the lead. UB fought for the remaining 40 minutes of the match, but the Bulls were unable to penetrate the Akron backline. Dan Bulley (Exeter, England/St. Peter's) recorded the only shot on goal of the match for Buffalo. Bell made five saves in goal for UB. The Bulls play their final Mid-American Conference match next Saturday, November 3 at UB Stadium when they host Hartwick. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. |
