Andrae Clarke Selected To National Team of The Week

Clarke led the Bulls to a victory over nationally-ranked Northern Illinois

BUFFALO, NY – Playing in his final regular season home game, senior Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/DeWitt Clinton) made the most of his opportunity and led UB to a 1-0 victory over MAC rival and nationally-ranked, Northern Illinois. For his efforts, Clarke was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. This is the second time that the senior forward has received this honor in his career.

The goal, Clarke’s eighth of the season, has put UB in a position to claim its first ever regular-season MAC title. The Bulls are 3-1 in conference play following the victory over the Huskies and can claim a share of the title with a victory over Akron on Friday night.

Clarke leads the Bulls with eight goals and his 18 points are tops on the squad as well. The eight goals tie Marcus McCarty from Northern Illinois for tops in the conference and are just one off Clarke’s career high, which he set last season.

UB wraps up its regular season on Friday night as it travels to Akron for a rematch of last year’s MAC Championship game. The contest is set to begin at 7:00 pm.
