BUFFALO, NY — The University at Buffalo men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Northern Illinois, losing 2-1 in double overtime.

The first half was a battle for control as both teams looked to gain an advantage. Both defenses played tough and the game was scoreless going into halftime. In the second half, UB got on the board first in the 74th minute. Perry Duronio (Getzville, NY/Williamsville East) scored off a pass from Chris Vinci (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's) in the box and gave the Bulls the 1-0 lead. UB then was on the defensive and appeared to have the game in control, but with less than two minutes to play, Caleb Davis got control of the ball off a deflection in the box and scored to tie the game at 1-1 and force overtime.

The first overtime saw both teams battle on the defensive side and each team got one shot off with no results. The Huskies would strike quickly in the second overtime as Nick Park would score from the left side of the box at the 107:48 mark to give Nothern Illinois the win.

Buffalo falls to 5-7-2 overall and 1-4 in the MAC while Northern Illinois improves to 7-7-0 overall and 3-2 on the MAC.
