Men’s Soccer Plays Back Into Top 20

Bulls ranked 20th in recent NSCAA/adidas polls

BUFFALO, NY – After wins over two Mid-American Conference teams this past weekend, the University at Buffalo men's soccer team moved up one spot to 20th in the NSCAA/adidas national rankings Tuesday. With a 12-2-0 record, the Bulls are tied for the most wins in the country with fellow MAC team, Akron, who remained the top ranked team.

Buffalo outscored its opponents 5-0, pitching two shutouts in the process and bringing the total shutout tally up to seven, which is the most by a UB team since 1990. The 1981 Buffalo team had eight shutouts. The Bulls also remain second in the New York region according to NSCAA/adidas behind St. John's University, who sit with a 7-2-4 record and are ranked seventh in the nation.

Junior Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/DeWitt Clinton) continues to lead the team in scoring with 26 points, while sophomore Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay) is second with 23 points after scoring a goal and picking up an assist in UB's win over Bowling Green on Friday.

The team ends its regular season at Western Michigan on Friday at 3 pm, and culminates with Northern Illinois on Sunday at 1 pm.
