UB Win Streak Stopped

Men's Soccer Falls to Kentucky

Lexington, KY - The Kentucky Wildcats ended the Bulls five-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory over UB on two second half goals in men's soccer action.

UB was dominated by Kentucky, who outshot the Bulls 28-3, and took 15 corner kicks in the game. The first half was dead locked at 0-0 behind the efforts of UB goalie Justin Deming (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hills), who recorded two saves in the first half.

Kentucky got on the scoreboard in the second half, as Lee Baker fed Giovanni Fernandez for a goal at the 46:20 mark. The Wildcats added the insurance goal at the 67:32 mark when Baker scored a header off a corner kick from Antti Peltonen.

The Bulls dropped to 9-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the MAC. Kentucky improved their record to 9-3-0 and a perfect 4-0 in the MAC to remain in first place in the conference.
