Men's Soccer Falls To KentuckyLEXINGTON, KY - Junior Dan Wielechowski (Canton, MI/Plymouth Salem) scored 15:49 into the game to give the University at Buffalo men's soccer team an early 1-0 lead. However, that was all the offense the Bulls could put together as they fell, 3-1, to the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday afternoon.
Buffalo falls to 1-3-0 in the Mid-American Conference and 4-5-1 overall while Kentucky remains a perfect 4-0-0 in the conference and 7-4-1 overall. The win was the100th career victory for UK coach Ian Collins as his Wildcats out shot the Bulls, 11-3, and held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. With the game tied 14 minutes into the second half, Kentucky's John Monebrake netted two goals less than a minute apart to propel the Wildcats to the 3-1 victory. The two-goal performance for Monebrake was his third of the season. Junior Brian Wozniak (Canton, MI/Plymouth Salem) recorded four saves in goal for Buffalo. 16 (4 p.m.), before hosting Canisius on Friday, October 19 (7 p.m.), in a re-scheduled contest. |
