BUFFALO, NY - The UB men's soccer team came away with a 4-2 win over Long Island University on Sunday and gave head coach John Astudillo his 100th career victory in the process.

Tim Songer (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) got the Bulls on the board in the 34th minute, scoring from 15-yards out on a pass from Jay Page (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport). UB increased its lead before halftime as Steve Butcher (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) took a pass from Songer and scored at the 37:01 mark for a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Butcher had a beautiful cross to Chris Vinci (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's) who scored off the header to give UB a 3-0 lead in the 55th minute. Long Island got their first goal at the 65:48 mark on a goal by Orville Jackson who knocked a deflection by UB goalie Brian Wozniak (Canton, MI/Plymouth Salem). Butcher would add his second goal of the game as he drove by several defenders and dodged a diving LIU goalie to score in the 82nd minute. LIU would add a late goal at the 87:10 mark for the final 4-2 score.

The win improved Buffalo to 9-3-1 on the season and gave Astudillo his 100th career win. He becomes just the second coach in UB history to reach that mark. Astudillo is in his 11th season as head coach of the Bulls and has a career record of 100-83-13.
