Biscevic Scores in OT to Lead Bulls Past Falcons

Senior midfielder scores twice to push men's soccer past Bowling Green, 2-1

BOWLING GREEN, OH Senior Mirnes Biscevic (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) scored 1:41 into overtime on a cross from senior Jeff Martinko (Shelby Township, MI/DeLaSalle Collegiate) to lead the University at Buffalo's men's soccer team to a 2-1 Mid-American Conference win at Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon.

It was Buffalo's first MAC win since beating Kentucky 2-1 on Oct. 20, 2002, a stretch of 11 games.

The Falcons (0-13 overall, 0-4 MAC) got on the board first, denting the twine in the 70th minute, as Omari Aldridge scored on an assist from Gregory Hennelly.

The Bulls (7-4-1 overall, 1-2-0 MAC) fought back 12 minutes later, as Biscevic scored unassisted to knot the game at one.

Buffalo outshot Bowling Green, 13-10, and also held a slight advantage in corner kicks, 4-3. The offense was paced by three shots from Biscevic and four from freshman Shyle Braithwaite (Brampton, Ontario/Philip Pocock Catholic).

Sophomore Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) made four saves in goal for the Bulls, who have improved their win mark six games over last year. Tyler Dollins stopped one shot for the Falcons.

The Bulls next take the field on Friday, as they travel to Cleveland State for a 7:00 pm non-conference match.
