UB Battles The Elements, Falls To Akron 3-0
McKenzie, tied for first in the MAC in goals entering the game, scored the eventual game-winnng goal in the first 11 minutes in the first half to put the second-ranked Zips on top. Three minutes later, Sinisa Ubiparipovic, the other leading goal-scorer in the MAC, netted the second goal of the game off an indirect kick from Yohann Mauger. McKenzie would find the net again midway through the second half off a corner kick from Ubiparipovic to put the game away. The Bulls were led by sophomore Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay) with two shots, as the team collectively attempted only five shots the whole game, including only one shot in the second half. The three goals scored by the Zips is the most a team has scored on the 20th-ranked Bulls this season, ending a streak of 10 games in which the team had not allowed more than two goals. Zips freshman goalkeeper Evan Bush extended his number of shutout wins to seven, as he made two saves, while junior goalkeeper Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) also made two saves.
