Men's Soccer Falls to Western Michigan in OT, 1-0
KALAMAZOO, MI - The Buffalo men's soccer team fell in overtime to Western Michigan, 1-0, in a Mid-American Conference clash on Sunday afternoon. It was the second-straight overtime loss for the Bulls and the third-straight game they've been shut out. Despite being outshot 14-8 in regulation, the Bulls' played solid defense and forced the game into overtime. However, 3:11 into the extra session, Bronco midfielder Giusseppe Ianni found the back of the net to win it for Western Michigan. Chris Vavrina (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) made three saves and allowed one goal in the loss. Western Michigan goalkeeper Ian Spooner made four saves to earn the shutout. Patrick Beckley (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) led UB with three shots. With the loss, the Bulls drop to 1-8-3 overall and 0-3-0 in the MAC. Western Michigan
improves to 8-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the conference. |
