Men’s Soccer Garners Recognition In Three National PollsBUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s soccer team made its claim on the national level Tuesday, as the team forced its way into being ranked 20th in the nation according to the NSCAA/adidas national rankings. This is the highest ranking by any UB men's soccer team since entering Division-I in 1991. The team is ranked second in the New York region according to NSCAA/adidas behind St. John's, who are ranked fifth in the nation. The Bulls also climbed into the College Soccer News' top 30 poll, where they have locked in the 29th spot. A fourth national poll, conducted by SoccerTimes, has Buffalo receiving six votes in its college coaches poll. The Bulls (10-1-0) are off to one of the best starts in team history after winning their first eight games of the season. Nationally, they rank in the top five in scoring offense (3.00 goals per game) and winning percentage (0.909), while junior Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/DeWitt Clinton) ranks seventh in assists per game (0.82) and 14th in points per game (2.09). Junior Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame), with his 10 wins and five shutouts, has helped his team rank 18th in goals against average with 0.64. The team welcomes second-ranked Akron to UB Stadium Friday at 7 pm as the Bulls begin Mid-American Conference play.
