Junior Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/DeWitt Clinton) was the second Bull honored this season with the Mid-American Conference’s Player of the Week. Clarke scored three goals and recorded one assist in two games this past week that resulted in two Bulls’ victories. He also was named to the College Sports News National Team of the Week for his attack-oriented play. He has recorded seven goals and 10 assists this season. His 10 assists breaks the UB record for most assists in a season (Walter Cohen, 1981 - nine assists). Clarke’s 24 points leads the Bulls, as he has scored in nine of 11 games this season.

Bell Rings Louder As Team Keeps Winning

Junior goalkeeper Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) earned his 10th victory and fifth shutout of the season Sunday in a Bulls’ win against Boston University. In his career, Bell has tallied 19 total wins, a feat that has him currently tied for second in UB history, shared with Jerry Forton (1984-86). He also ranks second in total wins in a season, tied with Justin Deming (1999) and Jay Palmer (1994). Bell currently owns a 0.64 GAA and 39 saves.

Bulls Enter Double-Digit Wins, National Rankings

With the Bulls’ decisive victory over Boston University Sunday, the team has now recorded its 10th win of the season and has become the first team in the nation with 10 wins. UB has received much recognition for its stellar season as it has joined the likes of the best teams in the nation. According to collegesoccernews.com, the Bulls have been ranked 29th in a top 30 poll conducted Monday morning.

Clash Of The Titans

The newly 29th-ranked Bulls welcome by far their toughest oppenent in the history of UB soccer to UB Stadium Friday, as they face off against 2nd-ranked Akron. Akron (9-0-0) is the highest ranked team to ever play against a team in Western New York, and kicks off Mid-American Conference play for UB. Both teams have earned national recognition for their dynamic offenses, as they rank first and fourth, respectively, in scoring offense.

Up Next

After two key victories, the 29th-ranked Bulls battle second-ranked Akron Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 pm. The home matchup kicks off Homecoming Weekend, and promises to be the Bulls’ toughest competition in recent memory.
