Clarke Bestowed With Two Weekly Awards
In last week's games, Clarke continued his stellar breakout season after tallying a goal and assisting on the eventual game-winning goal in a 2-1 decision against Canisius Friday night, then recorded his sixth and seventh goal of the year against regionally-ranked Boston University Sunday as the Bulls cruised to the win, 2-0. On the year, Clarke leads the team with 24 points on seven goals and 10 assists. He sits second on the team in goals behind sophomore Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay), who has eight, and leads the team in assists. In his first two years combined, Clarke totaled 13 points with five goals and three assists. The dramatic improvement this year is one of many factors to the success that the UB men's soccer team has experienced as it became the first 10-win team in the nation with Sunday's 2-0 win against Boston University.
Clarke leads the MAC in points (24), assists (10) and assists per game (0.89), and returns to action Friday night, when the Bulls take on nationally-ranked Akron at UB Stadium. The game begins at 7 pm. |
