Bulley Goal Lifts Bulls Past Duquesne, 1-0PITTSBURGH, PA – The University at Buffalo men's soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory Sunday afternoon at Duquesne. Sophomore forward Dan Bulley (Exeter, England/St. Peter's) scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute to give the Bulls the victory.
But Bulley broke the deadlock 18 minutes into the second half, scoring an unassisted goal to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead. For Bulley, the goal was his second of the weekend and his team-leading fourth of the season. Duquesne (2-4-3) and Buffalo each took 12 shots in the contest, but the Dukes only managed to get one of their shots on goal, while five of UB's shots were on target. Bulley and Eric Johnson (Cleveland, OH/West Geauga) each had two shots on goal for the Bulls and Mateo Escobar (Liverpool, NY/Wilbraham & Monson) had one. Buffalo held a huge corner kick advantage in the contest, 12-3.
Buffalo will return to action on Saturday, October 6 when they travel to nationally-ranked Saint Louis, kickoff is scheduled for 7p.m. |
