UB Men's Soccer Shutout By AkronBUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's soccer team dropped its Mid-American Conference opener on Sunday afternoon at RAC Field, losing 2-0 to the Akron Zips. The Zips - ranked 23rd nationally in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NCSA)/Adidas poll - notched a pair of first-half goals and then shut down the Buffalo offense. Akron goalkeeper Justin Christafaris finished with four saves on the afternoon in the shutout effort. Buffalo goalkeeper Brandon Foley (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) made three saves, while allowing two goals.
Mirnes Biscevic (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) recorded a team-high three shots for the Bulls. UB- which is now 1-6-3 - returns to action next Friday at 7 p.m. when the Bowling Green
Falcons pay a visit to RAC Field. |
