With the Bulls on a deep offensive attack, Ian McGimsey stormed towards the far-left corner of the field to scoop up a loose ball that was rolling towards the backline. McGimsey beat the Viking defender to the ball to keep the play alive then sent an arching cross in front of the net to an aerial Bulley, heading the ball under the post to break the scoreless contest in the 77th minute of play.
Senior forward Bulley is one goal away from appearing on the all-time list for most career goals. One goal will place Bulley tied for tenth place with Brian Hancher (1989-91) and Kurt Felgemacher (1981, 83, 85) at 17 goals each. Up Next: Conference Home Opener and a Two-Game Road Trip The Bulls (3-2, 0-0 MAC) will remain at home as they return to action on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:30 pm when they open Mid-American Conference play against Hartwick (3-2-1). The Hawks are currently undefeated on the road, posting a 2-0-1 record. In their six all-time matchups, the Bulls hold an all-time record of 1-3-1 versus the Hawks, being outscored 16-5. The Bulls’ single victory came in the semi-finals of the 2007 MAC tournament by the score of 1-0 as forward Dan Stevens broke a scoreless tie in the 88th minute, sending the Bulls to the MAC title game. Following the Bulls’ conference opener versus Hartwick, they will face Robert Morris (0-7) on Friday, September 25 at 4:00 pm followed by Duquesne (2-3-1) on Sunday, September 27 at 12:00 pm.
