Bell Selected As MAC Player Of The Week

UB goalkeeper pitches back-to-back shutouts to earn honor

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo men's soccer junior goalkeeper Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) was honored this week as the Mid-American Conference's Player of the Week. It was announced by the Mid-American Conference Monday morning.

In goal, Bell posted three wins which included a one-goal victory against St. Bonaventure Wednesday and back-to-back shutout victories against Centenary on Saturday and Western Illinois on Sunday in the 2005 Kick-off Classic in Statesboro, GA. His 0.33 GAA and two shutout wins earned him a spot on the weekend's All-Tournament Team. Bell also earned an All-Tournament honor when he competed in the UB Fall Classic earlier this season at UB Stadium.

Bell has tallied 19 saves and seven wins this season. He is one win away from matching his season high of eight wins last season. He leads the MAC in shutouts with four, and is second in GAA (0.57) and save percentage (.826).
