STATESBORO, GA – The University at Buffalo men's soccer team claimed yet another victory Sunday with a 3-0 decision over Western Illinois to win the 2005 Kick-off Classic in Statesboro, GA. The team shut out both of its opponents en route to extending its record to 7-0-0, which is the best start since 1990 when the team won its first nine games.

Sophomore Shyle Braithwaite (Brampton, Ontario/Philip Pocock Catholic) kicked off the festivities with his fourth goal of the season. He hammered home a rocket to the upper right corner after being fed with a sweet pass from junior Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/DeWitt Clinton). The score would remain 1-0 going into the second half until senior Matt Stuczynski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) converted a penalty kick following a Leatherneck foul in the box at the 59:25 mark. The Bulls' weekend would conclude with a goal scored by sophomore Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay) after he received a pass from Braithwaite. His third goal of the weekend found its way to the upper left corner of the net.
