Bulls Men's Soccer Ties Niagara, 0-0

UB freshman goalkeeper Brandon Foley earns his first collegiate shutout

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Niagara on Tuesday night at RAC Field. Freshman Brandon Foley (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) posted his first career shutout in net for UB, while at the other end of the field, Dan O'Shea earned the shutout for Niagara.

Buffalo stormed out of the gate, outshooting the Purple Eagles by an 8-4 margin in the first half. Niagara responded however, winning the overall shots battle, 22-18, after outshooting UB 10-8 in the second half and 8-2 in the two periods of overtime play.

The Bulls registered more shots on goal however, firing three on O'Shea, while Foley was forced to make only one save for Buffalo.

Dave Pidgeon (Dorval, Quebec/Bishop Whelan) and Greg Galemore (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris) each recorded three shots to lead the Bulls, while Cheick Diarra (Hillsborough, NJ/John Bartram) and Mike Geller (Gardiner, NY/New Paltz) anchored a steady UB defense that allowed only the one shot on goal.

Buffalo heads out on the road to the Army Tournament this weekend, where it will face Army on Friday and Navy on Sunday.
