Men's Soccer Ties in Double Overtime

Bulls Finish in 1-1 Tie With Siena

LOUDONVILLE, NY - The University at Buffalo men's soccer team fought to a 1-1 tie with Siena Friday night. The Bulls grabbed the early lead but could not hold on as Siena tied it in the second half and both teams went scoreless in the two 15-minute overtime periods.

Tim Songer (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) scored the first goal of the game late in the first half. Songer connected off a pass from Perry Duronio (Getzville, NY/Williamsville East) at the 40:32 mark for a 1-0 UB lead. That lead would hold for most of the game, until Siena would eventually tie the game late in the second half. The Saints scored on a goal from Ryan Slater, who squeezed a shot past UB goalie Brian Wozniak (Canton, MI/Plymouth Salem) at the 82:10 mark to tie the game at 1-1.

Both teams battled through two, physical overtime periods but neither team could find the back of the net, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Siena outshot UB 18-9 in the game, as Wozniak recorded nine saves on the game at goalie.

Buffalo (2-2-1) will next be in action on Sunday, when the Bulls play at Long Island University at 1 pm.
