UB Men's Soccer Ties Canisius, 2-2

Freshman Andrae Clarke scores his second goal of the season

BUFFALO, NY - The Bulls men's soccer team rallied back with a late second-half goal to tie the Canisius College Golden Griffins, 2-2, at RAC Field on Saturday. Patrick Beckley (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) and Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/Dewitt Clinton) each scored goals for UB.

Clarke tallied in the 85th minute, tying the game at two and forcing overtime. Erik Jaanimagi (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) passed the ball ahead to Clarke, who fired a shot into the open left portion of the net. Clarke now leads the Bulls with a pair of goals this season.

Beckley opened the game's scoring in the 12th minute with a header from 10 yards out. Matt Stuczynski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) lofted the ball into the air for Beckley, earning an assist on the scoring play.

Chris Robey - who scored both Golden Griffins' goals - notched his first of the afternoon late in the first half with a shot into the lower left corner of the net. He added another goal in the 79th minute, knocking a pass from Al Franjoine into an open net.

UB freshman goalkeeper Brandon Foley (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) earned a tie in his first career start, making four saves and allowing only two goals in 110 minutes of play.

Buffalo returns to action on at 7 pm on Tuesday when the Niagara Purple Eagles visit RAC Field.
