Shuttleworth Earns MAC Player of the Week

Sophomore goalkeeper recorded three shutouts for the week

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo sophomore goalkeeper Robert Shuttleworth (Tonawanda, NY/Nichols) was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Shuttleworth was in goal for all three of UB's victories for the week, posting shutouts in the wins over Niagara, Siena and Central Connecticut State.

Shuttleworth made 11 total saves in the three contests and has now not allowed a goal in over 300 minutes between the posts for the Bulls. This is the second honor Shuttleworth has received in as many days, as yesterday he was named the Bulls Fall Classic defensive MVP. He currently leads the MAC in save percentage, posting a .929 mark, and his goals against average of 0.24 is second in the conference.

Shuttleworth and the Bulls return to action on Friday, September 14 when they travel to St. Bonaventure, kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. Buffalo returns home to UB Stadium on Sunday, September 16 when the Bulls host Cornell at 3 p.m.
