Bulls Men's Soccer Loses To Wright State

Freshman Andrae Clarke Nets First Collegiate Goal

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's soccer team fell to Wright State, 3-1, at RAC Field in Sunday's championship game of the UB Fall Invitational. Buffalo's lone goal was scored by freshman Andrae Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica/Dewitt Clinton), his first at the collegiate level.

Wright State tallied a pair of first-half goals and then tacked on another in the second half before Clarke put UB on the board.

Clarke's goal, which came during the 90th minute, came from 25 yards out. Cheick Diarra (Hillsborough, NJ/John Bartram) fed Clarke on the left wing, from where Clarke knocked a shot into the upper-left corner of the net.

Aside from winning the weekend tournament, Wright State also mopped up the remaining hardware. Forward Ricky Strong earned offensive most valuable player honors, while teammate Trent Corbin garnered defensive most valuable player recognition.

Earlier in the afternoon, Central Connecticut State defeated Canisius, 1-0, securing a third-place finish.

UB remains at home for its next two contests - the next of which begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday against Canisius.
