Men's Soccer Gets Overtime Win

Vinci's Late Goal Gives Bulls Second Straight Victory

BUFFALO, NY - UB's Tim Songer (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) was the hero for the Bulls, scoring both UB goals, including an overtime goal in the 94th minute to give UB a 2-1 win over cross-town rival Canisius Wednesday evening.

The Bulls got on the board first with a goal in the 11th minute of play. Songer scored his first goal of the year on a cross from Mike Peplinski (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) for the 1-0 lead. Canisius came back in the 29th minute with a goal from Antonio Gallo to tie the score at 1-1 at halftime. The second half saw both team fail to score a goal, forcing the overtime and setting up Songer for his game-winning goal.

UB goalkeeper Brian Wozniak (Canton, MI/Plymouth Salem) recorded two saves on the night and allowed his first goal of the season in the win.

The Bulls will next travel to California to play in the UC Irvine tournament. Buffalo will play UC Irvine on Friday, Septemeber 8, at 6 pm ET, and then face Cal-State Fullerton on Saturday, September 9, at 1 pm ET.
