QUEENS, NY – The Buffalo men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Fairleigh Dickinson University Sunday night in the St. John's Nike Classic. Samson Malijani scored two second half goals to give FDU the victory. With the loss, the Bulls record fell to 0-2 to begin the season.

Senior goalkeeper Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame Secondary), who was granted a fifth-year of eligibility by the NCAA, was in goal for the Bulls for the first time during the 2007 campaign and made three saves. The Bulls managed just two shots on goal during the contest with one each coming from Dominic Oppong (Scarborough, Ontario/Cardinal Newman/Cincinnati) and Dan Stevens (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool/ Oneonta State). Despite earning eight corner kicks during the match, including six during the second half, UB was unable to beat Fairleigh Dickinson goalkeeper Elvir Prasovic.

Sophomore forward Dan Bulley (Exeter, England/St. Peter's/West Texas A&M) made his first appearance for the Bulls tonight. Also, defender Dezi Lara (Fyzabad, Trinidad & Tobago/Naparima) picked up a yellow card during the contest.

Next up for UB will be the home opener on this Wednesday, September 5, when the Bulls entertain Big 4 rival Niagara at UB Stadium at 7 p.m. Fans unable to attend the contest can follow the action via live stats available at buffalobulls.com.
