Three Bulls to Play for the Kalamazoo Outrage
Bulley, Johnson and Shuttleworth set to spend the summer together in the PDL
Robert Shuttleworth | BUFFALO, NY – Three members of the University at Buffalo men's soccer team, Dan Bulley (Exeter, England/St. Peter's), Eric Johnson (Cleveland, OH/West Geauga) and Robert Shuttleworth (Tonawanda, NY/Nichols) have recently been signed to play this summer with the Kalamazoo Outrage of the Premier Development League (PDL).
"We quite literally have scouts looking out for us all over the world," said Outrage coach Stu Riddle. "I was informed of these recruits by our New York-based contact and after studying game tapes on them knew immediately that they could come in and all help us."
Dan Bulley | In 2007, his first season with UB, Bulley led the Mid-American Conference in both goals, with eight, and points, with 19. He was named to the All-MAC First Team and was also the only two-time MAC Player of the Week. Bulley started 18 matches for the Bulls. He will begin his junior season at UB in the fall.
Shuttleworth finished the season with a .800 save percentage in goal for Buffalo, the highest mark of any goalkeeper in the MAC. He had a goals against average of 0.94 and a record of 8-2-2. Shuttleworth was named to the MAC All-Tournament Team after helping the Bulls reach their second MAC Tournament Final in three years. He will be a junior this fall for Buffalo.
Eric Johnson | Johnson played in all 19 matches for Buffalo in his first season with the Bulls, making 18 starts. He registered two assists for UB in 2007 while playing mostly in an attacking midfield role. Johnson will be a senior this fall for Buffalo.
The PDL is the top amateur division of the United Soccer Leagues. Players in the PDL compete during the summer in a professional setting while still maintaining their collegiate eligibility. Kalamazoo will begin their season on Friday, May 16 when they host the West Virginia Chaos.
