Clarke Drafted By Major Indoor Soccer League
Clarke joins the Kixx following a stint with the Chicago Fire of the Major League Soccer. The open tryout with the Fire proved quite promising for the Kingston, Jamaica superstar, but Clarke elected to return for the spring semester and graduate in May. The opportunity to play professional ball in the MISL comes at the right time, as he will be able to finish up in May and continue his dream toward playing a the professional level. "I'm really excited," Clarke said. "My family told me that good things come to those who wait, and now, my hopes of playing top professional soccer is staring me right in the face. Playing indoor soccer is as fun as it get because it builds a player's touch, technique and speed in tight spaces." The MISL is currently organized in a single table playing a 30 game schedule. Traditionally, the season begins in October and ends in March. Now entering their 11th campaign and fifth in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), the Philadelphia KiXX led the League in attendance three times and was crowned the MISL’s first League Champion in 2002.
Clarke led the Bulls with eight goals and 18 points. The eight goals ws second best in the MAC and one shy of the Kingston, Jamaica native's career high, which he set last season. Clarke was the third player in UB history to lead the team in both goals and points in three seasons. The graduating senior ended his UB campaign as one of the best to ever don a UB uniform, as he sits fifth in goals with 22, second in assists with 17 and tied for fourth in points with 61 total. |
