Two Bulls Claim Scholar All-East Region Honors
Bell, Jaanimagi named honorable mention by NSCAA/adidas
BUFFALO, NY – Juniors Daniel Bell (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame) and Erik Jaanimagi (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) were named College Scholar All-East Region honorable mention as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the first time in team history. Both players were recognized after maintaining a GPA of at least 3.3 during they season.
 Daniel Bell | Bell, a political science major, played and started in goal all 19 games this season which included a berth in the MAC Championship game for the first time since joining the Mid-American Conference in 1998. He logged a career high 1652:00 minutes in net and allowed only 12 goals. His 0.65 GAA was 11th best in the nation, while posting nine shutout victories. He was second in the MAC in Save Percentage (.821), GAA (0.65) and shutouts (9). With his 14 wins this season, Bell claimed the UB record for wins in a single season and is now the all-time leader in wins (23) for men’s soccer. Bell is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society and has a 3.5 GPA.

Jaanimagi played a key role in a formidable Bull scoring offense that was ranked ninth in the nation and was ranked in the top 10 in every other team category. At midfield, Jaanimagi finished with two goals and three assists on 19 shots, each of which were career highs in a season. He notched a goal and an assist in the 2-0 win against Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference semifinal game. Jaanimagi is an anthropology major and has a 3.44 GPA.
The Bulls enjoyed their best season in the program’s 33-year history at 14-3-2, a dramatic turnaround after going 1-12-3 just two seasons before.
