UB Hits Century Mark in Exhibition

UB Basketball Wins, 105-76, in Final Tune-Up Before Season Opener

The University at Buffalo men's basketball team crushed the Rose City Express, 105-76, Monday night at UB's Alumni Arena. It was the final exhibition game for the Bulls before the season opener Friday night.

UB was led by Louis Campbell (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) with 20 points, one of five UB players in double figures. Maliso Libomi (Malakoff, France/Academic De Creteil) controlled the paint area, pulling down a game-high 15 rebounds and Nikolai Alexeev (Minsk, Belarus/Belarus Sports Academy) added 16 points and eight rebounds. Alexei Vasiliev (St. Petersburg, Russia/Russia Junior National) and Bogdan Karebin (Moscow, Russia/Milford Academy) each added 14 points off the bench and Jon Kleidon (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park-River Forest) contributed 12 points. Ryan Peterson (Clark, NJ/Setan Hall Prep) had a game- high nine assists and Vasiliev added seven assists.

Rose City Express was led by former UB player Myron Banks, who scored a game-high 27 points, including six three-pointers, most coming from way beyond the arc. Another former UB player, Modie Cox, added five points in the loss.

The Bulls shot .507 from the field (38-of-75), and .294 (10-for-34) from three-point range. UB also dominated the paint area, outrebounding Rose City Express 55-32. The UB defense held the visitors to just .373 shooting (28-of-75) from the field as well.

The Bulls will open their regular season this Friday night at Niagara University at 7:30 p.m. That game will be televised on the Empire Sports Network.
