Libomi Out For SeasonBUFFALO, NY - Forward Maliso Libomi (Malikoff, France) will miss the upcoming season for the University at Buffalo men's basketball team after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. He will sit out this upcoming season with a medical redshirt. Libomi tore the A.C.L. in his knee while playing over the summer in his home country of France. Libomi had surgery on his knee Monday, August 9, and will now go through a 6-8 month rehabilitation period. Last season, Libomi played in 27 games, starting in 15, and averaged 6.2 points per game. He led the team in field goal percentage, hitting 48.6% (68-for-140) from the field. Libomi was fifth on the team with 100 rebounds, averaging 3.7 per game and was second on the team in blocked shots with 24, including eight blocks in a win over Northern Illinois. He will be in school this year at UB and attend classes while going through the rehabilitation process. |
