Toledo Hands Bulls Huge Loss

TOLEDO, OHIO - The Toledo Rockets showed why they are one of the top teams in the Mid-American Conference, playing a flawless game and defeating the Bulls 103-51 on the Rockets home floor.

This game marked just the third time in his six years at UB that head coach Tim Cohane's team has allowed an opponent to score over 100 points. The Bulls are 1-2 under Cohane when their opponents crack the 100-point mark. The last time an opponent hit the century mark was last year, when UB beat Chicago State 110-100. The other loss in a 100-point game was in the 1994-95 season, when the Bulls lost to Troy State 102-94.

It was ugly from the beginning as Toledo took a 47-18 lead into halftime and never slowed down in the second half. The Bulls could get no offensive production from its starters, but did get a career game from Bogdan Karebin (Moscow, Russia). Karebin scored a career best 19 points off the bench, including 8-of-10 from the free throw line. He also pulled down a career best 10 rebounds in the game.

Toledo had six players reah double figures in points, led by Greg Stempin with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bernard Scott added 15 points and Justin Hall scored 14 for the Rockets.
