Bulls Drop Final Game in Hawaii


KAILUA-KONA, HI- Old Dominion proved too tough for the Bulls, as UB lost 85-65 in the final game of the Hawaii-Hilo Tournament, the third game in three-days for the Bulls.

It was a close game at halftime, as Old Dominion led by just four points, 32-28, at the break. ODU came out and blew the game open in the second half, outscoring the Bulls 53-37 in the final 20-minutes. ODU used an incredible 63.6% shooting from the field in that second half, conneciting on 14-of-22 from the field and 5-of-8 from three-point range in the half.

ODU, winners of the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record, was led by Cal Bowdler with 23 points, Michael Williams with 17 and Mark Poag with 13 points. Andre McCullum came off the bench for Old Dominion to pull down a game-high 12 rebounds.

UB was led by four players in double figures. Nikolai Alexeev (Minsk, Belarus) had 17 points and Louis Campbell (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) added 15 points. Will Campbell (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) continued his hot play, scoring 11 points in the losing effort. Alexei Vasiliev (St. Petersburg, Russia) came off the bench to add 11 points for the Bulls.
