Men's Hoops Travels To Fairleigh DickinsonBUFFALO, NY - Buffalo's men's basketball team has not won six consecutive games since the 1994-95 season, but it now has a chance to do just that. In an attempt extend their winning streak, the Bulls take on the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights in Hackensack, NJ at 7 pm on Monday. UB, 5-3, last played on Wednesday night at Alumni Arena in a physical contest against Robert Morris. The Bulls came away with a hard-earned 79-66 victory. "We did good things at the end of that game," said UB head coach Reggie Witherspoon. "Robert Morris hung in there and fought - and we can benefit a great deal from that. That helps in terms of growth and preparation for conference play."
On the injury front, sophomore forward B.J. Walker (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Healthy) remains listed as questionable for Monday night. He has been sidelined for the past five games with a back injury. Fairleigh Dickinson enters the game with a 3-4 record, most recently falling to St. Peter's on Saturday afternoon. Prior to that contest, sophomore forward Gordon Klaiber was leading the Knights with 16.3 points per game. "I am sure they are going to pressure the ball," Witherspoon said of Fairleigh Dickinson. "They are also going to look to go to the glass and try to force some chaos. We are going to need to be very strong in handling that." The Knights hold a 6-2 edge in the all-time series with Buffalo, having won the last six games.
The two teams last met during the 2000-01 season with Fairleigh Dickinson winning, 74-68. |
