Battle Earns MAC Player of Week Honors AgainBUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo senior point guard Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) has been honored again by the Mid-American Conference in its weekly Player of the Week awards.
Battle was named MAC East Division Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Bulls to their third straight victory and best start since the 1994-95 campaign. Battle won his second honor this season by scoring 20 points while pulling down five rebounds, dishing out four assists and making two steals in a 69-65 win at Canisius. Battle connected on 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from the floor and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from three point range. His steal and breakaway layup as time expired in the game sealed the victory for the Bulls. Battle's four three-point field goals were a career-best and helped Buffalo improve to 6-2 on the season, the best start by a UB team in 10 years. The senior has now won the award three times in his career. Buffalo plays at Penn State
on Tuesday night in its final game before the new year. |
