Bulls Play Well, Fall to UNCBUFFALO, NY - UB came into the game an underdog but proved they could play with one of the best teams in the nation. The Bulls fell to the seventh-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels 91-67 in front of an Alumni Arena record crowd of 8,926. The Bulls played a tremendous first half and took a 40-35 lead going into the half. The Tar Heels would close the gap to one point, 31-30, on a layup from Max Owens with 1:41 left, but Alexei Vasiliev (St. Petersburg, Russia) responded with a three- pointer to make it a four-point lead. UNC came back with a three-pointer of their own before Vasiliev hit another shot from long range for a 37-33 UB lead with under a minute left. A jumper by Owens made it a two point game before Campbell hit the buzzer beater. In the second half, North Carolina opened up with a 6-2 run, making it a one-point game, and eventually took the lead on a layup by Kris Lang with 16:23 remaining. UB would regain the lead on a jumper by Vasiliev, giving the Bulls a 47-45 lead with 15:36 left. A three-pointer by Jason Capel a minute later gave UNC a lead they would hold for the rest of the game. The Tar Heels gradually increased their lead to the largest margin, the 91-67 final score. 4-of-6 from three-point range. Campbell also tied his career-high with eight
assists and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Alexei Vasiliev added 15 points
