Four Members of Men's Basketball Team Receive Diplomas

BUFFALO, NY - It was no surprise to see four members of the University at Buffalo men's basketball team in Alumni Arena on May 13. However, instead of donning their blue and white uniforms and running up and down the court, the quartet was wearing royal blue caps and gowns and walking down the aisle receiving their diplomas.

Calvin Cage, Mario Jordan and Roderick Middleton, along with student manager Aaron Witherspoon earned bachelor's degrees in their respective fields of study. Cage and Witherspoon earned a bachelor's degree in Social Science Interdisciplinary, Jordan earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Middleton earned a bachelor's degree in Economics.

Since Reggie Witherspoon has taken over as head coach at UB during the 1999-2000 season, 22 men's basketball players have earned their degrees.
