BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team has signed Brian Addison (Bronx, NY/Andrew Jackson), a 6-8 power forward from Monroe Community College, to a National Letter of Intent, according to head coach Reggie Witherspoon. Addison will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Addison comes to UB from Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY where he played two seasons for head coach Jerry Burns. Addison was a key component of an MCC team that went 57-10 over his two years. He was a member of two regional championship teams and during his freshman season, the Tribunes went 31-5 and advanced to the national championship game.

Addison averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game during his freshman season. He averaged 12 points and seven rebounds per game during his sophomore campaign. He shot 51.1 percent from the floor over his two-year career.

“We are very excited to add Brian to our program,” Witherspoon said. “He is a hard-working young man who has taken advantage of the opportunities presented to him at MCC and we feel that he will be able to have continued success here at UB.”

Addison will join Jawaan Alston (Uniontown, PA/Albert Gallatin), an incoming freshman the Bulls signed back in November. Alston, a 6-8 power forward, was recently named to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Terrific 10 after averaging 20.6 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5.7 blocked shots per game as a senior at Albert Gallatin High School.
