Battle Has Solid Showing at Portsmouth

UB point guard helps lead squad to a 2-1 record

PORTSMOUTH, VA - Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) fared well at the Portsmouth Invitational as he helped lead his team to a 2-1 record and a victory in the consolation championship game on Saturday. Battle averaged 4.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists over three games.

On Thursday, in his lone start of the tournament, Battle played 31 minutes and recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists. In Saturday’s contest, he tallied eight assists and didn’t commit a turnover. In fact, in three games, Battle had 13 assists compared to only two turnovers. He also had a steal in all three games.

Battle will now wait to see if he is selected to participate in the NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Chicago in June.
