Junior forward named among top 15 JUCO transfers in the nation

BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo junior forward Robert Brown (Oak Park, MI/Oak Park), who led the Bulls in both scoring and rebounding this season, was among some great company as he was named to the College Insider.Com All-JUCO Team.

Rob Brown
To qualify for the team, the 15 players had to have transferred from a junior college and participated in their first season at a four-year school. Brown came to Buffalo from Schoolcraft Junior College outside of Detroit. In his first season with the Blue & White, Brown averaged a team-leading 15.3 points (13th in the Mid-American Conference), 5.7 rebounds (14th in the MAC) and shot 49.7% from the floor (fifth in the MAC).

The 6-4 forward posted three double-doubles on the season and scored in double figures in 24 of Buffalo's 29 games. In addition, Brown was named to the South Florida Classic All-Tournament Team and had a career-best 16 rebounds and 21 points in a win over Eastern Michigan. His season-high was 25 points versus Niagara in his very first game as a Bull.

Brown came to Buffalo after being named an NJCAA honorable mention All-American at Schoolcraft for coach Carlos Briggs. In his final season at Schoolcraft he ranked ninth in the nation in rebounds per game (11.2) and third in the country in field goal percentage (65.5%) while averaging 18.0 points per game.

Brown was joined on the All-JUCO Team, selected by a panel of Division I head coaches, by the following players: Maurice Baker (Oklahoma State), Dan Beus (Southern Utah), Kevin Bradley (Utah),

Jamal Brown (Texas Tech), Eric Chatfield (New Mexico), Eugene Costello (UTEP), Reggie Evans (Iowa), Randy Holcomb (San Diego State), Aaron McGhee (Oklahoma), Jannero Pargo (Arkansas), Sean Peterson (Georgia Southern), Larry Reid (Kansas State), Thomas Terrell (Georgia State) and Mike Wallace (Southwest Missouri State).
