Buffalo Selected to Play in College Basketball Invitational Bulls will play at Wichita State on Wednesday night
The Bulls were the regular season co-champions of the Mid-American Conference and advanced to the championship game of the MAC Tournament. With a 21-11 record on the season, the Bulls have earned the second most wins in school history and their second 20-win season in the last five years. Wichita State has a record of 16-16. The Bulls and Shockers met once before back in 1997. Wichita State won the game, 79-69. The CBI is a 16-team, single-elimination tournament, until the Championship Series, with all games being held at campus sites of the higher seed. Eleven of the 17 games will be nationally televised on the HDNet. The Championship Series will be a best-of-three series, home-away-home, in which the higher seed will get the first and last (if necessary) home games. The event will feature eight first-round games, four quarterfinal games, a semifinal round and then a Championship Series.
Opening Round: March 17-18
