Buffalo to Face Kent State in Quarterfinals of MAC Tournament

Game will tip of at 2:30 pm

CLEVELAND, OH - The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team learned that it will play Kent State in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament after the Golden Flashes defeated Northern Illinois, 64-61, on Tuesday afternoon. The game will tip off at 2:30 pm on Thursday afternoon at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena.

This will be the third meeting between the teams after they split the regular season series. Buffalo defeated Kent State at Alumni Arena, 64-53, on January 21. The Golden Flashes returned the favor, 77-71, in overtime at the M.A.C. Center on March 5.

After winning a share of the regular season MAC title, the Bulls earned their first ever bye in the MAC Tournament. The Bulls are led by Rodney Pierce who earned All-MAC first-team honors on Monday and Greg Gamble who was named All-MAC Honorable Mention.

The game will be televised on FoxSports Ohio.
