CLEVELAND, OH The accolades continue for the Buffalo men's basketball team as Reggie Witherspoon was named the Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year and Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) was named to the All-MAC Second Team.

Witherspoon, who was named the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Coach of the Year on Monday, has led the Bulls to a 17-11 overall record and an 11-7 mark in the MAC. The nine-win improvement in MAC play is the second-biggest turnaround in the history of the conference. In addition, the Bulls' 12-win improvement overall so far this season, is the second-best turnaround among all Division I schools this year.

Buffalo defeated Northern Illinois in the first round of the First Energy Mid-American Conference Tournament at Alumni Arena on Monday. The Bulls have advanced to the quarterfinals where they will face Toledo on Thursday night at the Gund Arena in Cleveland. Tipoff is slated for 9 pm.
